PICTSWEET MARCH AND RALLY

JOIN PRESIDENT BARTLETT BY MARCHING SO PICTSWEET MUSHROOM WORKERS CAN WIN A UFW CONTRACT!

Date :   Saturday, September 1, 2001
Time:   11:00 a.m. (The March), 1:00 p.m. (Rally)
Place :  Starts at Montgomery Ward's parking lot by 3301 East Main Street (by Pacific View Mall), Ventura, CA 93003.
The march ends at Pictsweet Mushroom Plant located @ 4440 Olivas Park Drive (Harbor & Telephone), Ventura, CA.

This Labor Day weekend join actor Martin Sheen, UFW President Arturo Rodriguez, elected officials, Pictsweet mushroom workers, and hundreds of others in Ventura by helping Pictsweet mushroom workers get the UFW contract they deserve.

These workers have been without a contract for more than 14 years and earn substantially less than fellow workers employed at fresh mushroom ranches where there are UFW contracts.  Meanwhile, management continues to ignore the concerns of the workers and demonstrates a total lack of respect.  On-the-job injuries result from the company's indifference.  Workers are asking for decent wages, and end to on-the-job favoritism and improvements in their medical plan.  On June 26, 2001 the State of California filed a nine-count complaint against Pictsweet for labor law violations.

LET PICTSWEET KNOW YOU WILL BOYCOTT ALL PICTSWEET PRODUCTS UNTIL PICTSWEET MUCHROOM WORKERS WIN A UNION CONTRACT!
